The Tyrone junior varsity baseball team won their first game of the season 4-2 at Bald Eagle High School on Monday. “I’m hyped to have won this game and I want to win more games this season,” said catcher Brayden Parsons. The team went into their opener eager to start the season off right. Their excitement could be seen in pre-game as players took their warm-up swings, loosened their arms, and got to their positions to prepare for the game. Then it was on.

Within the first three innings, Tyrone produced a run batted in, a dominant pitching performance by sophomore starting pitcher Dylan Ewing, and a strong throw from deep left field to tag the runner out at home by left fielder Richard Rawlings.

The next few innings are what earned the win for the team. With stellar defense, more solid pitching, and hits by Kendall Lehner, Owen Oakes, Brayden Parsons, and Dylan Ewing the team earned the win to begin their season.
